What will the funding be used for?

 

Each season we work hard to raise money which will contribute to the start up costs of the proceeding season. These costs, including insurance, affiliation and team nomination fees easily reach over $50,000 per annum. This is on top of expenses for jerseys, training equipment, trading stock and other necessary expenses.

Unfortunately the effects of COVID-19 have already impacted Valleys and other not for profit sporting clubs due to the current restrictions resulting in the closure of our clubs (understandably) preventing the much needed generation of income. 

​

2020 will present us with a variety of challenges financially, however we are committed to overcoming these to ensure we can get back up and running if we get the go ahead for a 2020 competition, and also be prepared and in a position to move into the 2021 season the right way. 

 

We are currently working on a new 2020 budget to reflect the changes to our business. We are also planning ahead for 2021 with alternative methods of fundraising which will offset the income we have lost during the 2020 closure period. This fundraising will be used to cover the initial costs for the 2021 season,. This will also allow the committee to continue to focus on strengthening the financial position of the club throughout 2021 without the stress of an upfront financial burden.
